When opening a new online or brick and morter store, the outlay of cash to purchase stock can be huge. Cut that cost and stock your store for free with consignment. Start attending local craft shows and bazaars. You can find some really unique items and offer to carry their products on consignment. If the items sell, you split the money. If it doesn't, you give it back. If you look hard enough you can probably find some local woodworkers who make larger furniture pieces too.
